This is a brand new release for Intermountain for Late September/ Early October 2020. These cars have brand new tooling and revised artwork making these the finest PS 4750 hoppers on the market at the current time. WMT was able to reserve a number of these and have them open for early reservation to make sure you can get one of these amazing hoppers before they even arrive!
These ready-to-run cars feature injection-molded bodies with separately applied metal grab irons and etched metal roofwalks. Cars include trucks and brass wheelsets, weights and Kadee(R) #5 magnetic knuckle couplers. Covered hoppers feature etched-metal roofwalks.
Pullman Standard’s 4750 cubic foot covered hopper was one of the most successful freight car designs in that company’s history. Over 54,000 of these cars were produced during the latter part of the 1970s and early 1980s. It was the premier grain hauler of the era and is still in use.
Found throughout the country on virtually all of the class 1 rail lines, it is also one of the most leased cars through the Transport Leasing Division of Pullman. The cars were painted a virtual rainbow of colors.
Many PS-4750's can be found all over the USA and Canada to this day on all trains. Many still carry their original paint schemes including a small hand full of ICG cars!
